Uni-Visa boosts arrivals to Victoria Falls

The Victoria Falls, Zambia’s prime holiday destination, has seen a significant increase in tourist arrivals in the first half of 2017 since the re-launch of the Uni-Visa in December last year. Growing international interest in Zambia and Zimbabwe has spurred the decision to reinstate the visa after it was cancelled in 2015.

The visa was re-introduced to promote tourism and reduce the cost of visa fees for cross border travelling between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Travellers to the Victoria Falls no longer need to purchase expensive double-entry visas. With a single $50 visa, tourists can now travel between the two countries for 30 days and discover both sides of the falls.

Multi destination visits have become popular within recent years, and Zambia and Zimbabwe share a lot of history and attractions. The Kavango-Zambezi (Kaza) Uni-Visa was initially run as a pilot project between the two countries. The relaunch signals a positive step as tourism is a powerful economic driver for both countries.
