Healthcare app connecting patients, doctors and caregivers

ElBalto, a mobile-based platform which aims to transform the country’s healthcare system, recently launched in Egypt. The app targets healthcare professionals and seeks to connect patients, doctors and caregivers at the touch of a button.

Co-founder and CEO of the company, Mahmoud Abdalla, explained that receiving medical assistance in non-emergency cases often meets unnecessary hassles and obstacles such as traffic jams, doctor cancellations, or no-shows.

With more than 98.87 million mobile subscribers in Egypt, the app allows patients to consult an accredited doctor online using the mobile application and can communicate either via voice or video call. In addition, the app would also have an option to request or schedule a home visit.
