Architecture and fashion in Ivory Coast

Abidjan, the largest city in Ivory Coast, is rich in culture and history and offers tourists many interesting sites to explore. The St Paul’s Cathedral in Abidjan, built after the country’s independence, is a symbolic monument and the second largest church on the African continent. Designed by Italian architect Aldo Spirito, the church took five years to complete and is visited by tourists from all over the world.
Ivorian Brazilian creator and designer, Loza Maléombho, has taken the West African fashion world by storm. Her designs vary from traditional to modern styles and incorporate the elegance of African beauty. Loza has a showroom in Abidjan and shops in Cape Town, Lagos and New York. Some of her most famous works include an outfit worn by US pop star, Beyoncé, while some of her photographs were on display at Gallery Cocody in Abidjan.
